Burna Boy wins “Best African Act” award at 2019 MTV EMA Awards Night (full winners list)

NEWS VIRAL SPORT GOSSIP NOV 4, 2019 Burna Boy has won the Best African Act category at the 2019 MTV EMAs awards in Seville, Spain, the second international award he clinched this year. He also won the Best International Act award at the 2019 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards. For the MTV award, the African Giant Burna Boy beat Nigerian Teni, Prince Kaybee (South Africa), TooFan (Togo), Nasty C (South Africa) and Harmonize (Tanzania) in the award annaounced Sunday night at the FIBES Conference & Exhibition Centre. Burna Boy did not attend the presentation as he was holding a concert at SSE Arena in Wembley, London. With Burna Boy winning the award, Nigerian musicians have now clinched it the fourth time in a row. Wizkid won it in 2016, Davido 2017, Tiwa Savage in 2018. “Spending so much money on burials is a total waste to me”- Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie had aired his thoughts on how to spend money on burials. The handsome actor stated that it is not wise to spend too much money on burials. Justifying his stand, the actor noted that Nigerians should learn to celebrate someone while the person is still alive, not to save the money and at the end lavish it on burial. He also revealed that a friend had asked him for a loan of some millions of naira to bury his father, and that he was speechless. Stressing further, he mentioned that some family members will not assist you when you need financial help, but when you die, they will gather all dignitaries, contribute N20m to show off during the burial. Man narrates how female LASTMA officer locked him up for 2 days after assaulting him

A young upcoming musician identified as Loba Ajanaku has narrated his ordeal in the hands of a female LASTMA officer who allegedly assaulted him. According to him, he was trying to record her with his phone, but she noticed it and got angry, tore his Shirt and gathered other officers who took him to the police station and locked him up for two days. He wrote; “So I will be telling you guys a story of how the Nigeria system has failed us again. I ordered my Uber as a normal civil Nigerian with rights, the Uber driver parked and this LASMA Officer came and deflated two of his tyres (with the iron deflator they carry about). The driver was so scared, I started getting pissed off cos why would you just do that? I got down from the car and started recording on my phone. The LASMA Officer which happened to be a woman slapped me, tore the shirt I was wearing and kept trying to collect my phone. Man survives ghastly car accident in Abuja (Photos)

A young man identified as Stephen has taken to Twitter to share his joy after he survived a ghastly accident that was capable of claiming his life. Sharing photos of the badly damaged car on Twitter, Stephen revealed that he just came out of the car and that he is thankful to God for sparing his life. He also noted that he had no broken bones although the accident looked really fatal. He was dragged out of the car by good samaritans and It was only his phone that got broken. Nigerians have taken to his Twitter page to join him in thanking God for sparing his life. Some have also advised him to go to a hospital for proper check-up as there could be internal injuries. We’re not praying for that anyway.

Nigeria’s presidency has once again re-stated its vow of lifting 100m Nigerians out of extreme poverty in the next 10 years. President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Social Investment Programmes,  Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed  who spoke on behalf of the Presidency said the re-elected Nigerian leader laid the foundation to fulfill the promise in the last four years of his administration. President Buhari Departs For Saudi Arabia Three Days After Russia Visit

OCT 28, 2019 President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday depart Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII). Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s spokesman who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Sunday said that event was organised by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Shehu said the event themed, `What’s Next for Global Business?’ will hold from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, and would focus on three key pillars: Sustainable Future, Technology for Good and Advanced Society. Shehu said the three-day event would be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia and chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
